Students designed Lear car seat 2017

Stanton Bridge children were invited by local company the Lear Corporation to design and create their own car seat. Pupils went and visited the different workshops and even met the Directors of the company. The children put their safety gear on and started designing and creating the chair.

Using their creative minds, together they planned the chair exactly how they wanted it. All the children worked extremely hard and came back to school with lots of information about different aspects of cars, especially the seat! We are very proud of the pupils who attended this trip and we look forward to more pupils attending the Lear Corporation workshop in the near future.

When the finished seat was unveiled, we were treated to Wasps Rugby Academy stars who came along with Lear for a special assembly. The seat is now displayed in the entrance to the school and features an embroidered school crest.

Selected children helped to welcome families by offering sweets, and children gave bags full of food items to families. Lear corporation also kindly gave treats to all the children that helped out!

Thank you again to Lear corporation.

Lear Corporation tour

June 2018

The Stanton Bridge pupils were invited back to Lear Corporation to have a tour of their site and take part in a range of activities relating to car manufacturing.  The pupils were selected from years 3-6 who have been displaying excellent learning attitude and good behaviour in school.

All pupils thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and learnt so much about manufacturing and designing of car seats.

Pupils were asked to design their own car seat and think about the different features they want to add. Many of our pupils were very creative and who knows maybe Lear Corporation will use one our pupils designs in the future.

All the pupils received a fantastic goodie bag which they really liked.

A great time was had by all the pupils.

Summer 2019

Thank you Lear Cooperation for giving every child in our school a gift in the summer Term. The children really enjoyed their Frisbee's and even the staff did too!

December 2019

20 children from years 3-6 were given the opportunity to go on a trip to Lear Corporation. The children saw boxes being moved across conveyor belts, expensive car seats being designed, and also got to design their own car seats. The staff treated us very well and we all learnt lots of new things. The children were each given fruit, cookies, and a chocolate goody bag. It was a fun and educational trip.
