Stanton Bridge Primary School

Junior Librarians

Stanton Bridge understands the importance and value of reading as a life-long skill and necessity. We embrace a culture of getting lost in books, travelling on the journeys they take us and learning about the worlds in which we can explore. This year, a new library was built in addition to our current library so that we are able to offer pupils a rich, wide variety of fiction and non-fiction texts. It will also teach pupils about the various genres they can access within fiction books, about the Dewey system and information about authors both past and present.

The library will be run by a team of junior librarians who will manage the lending and returning of all of the books we have stocked. Every pupil will have an account and a rote set up for them to borrow books to read at home as well as in school.

We ask parents and carers to please ensure that books taken home are well looked after and returned in the condition in which they were borrowed. Should a book become damaged, please let the front office know.
