Safeguarding

Welcome to our Safeguarding Information page. This page will be updated regularly with details of the Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), general safeguarding information, links and resources to support you at home. This will cover a range of topics from wellbeing, e-safety and behaviour tips.

Our policy applies to all staff, volunteers, governors and visitors in the school.

There are main elements to our policy:

  • Ensuring we practice safe recruitment in line with national legislation by using at least one suitably trained recruiter on all interview panels and by checking the suitability of staff and volunteers to work with children and ensuring any unsuitable behaviour is reported and managed using the Allegations Management procedures
  • Raising awareness of child protection issues and equipping children with the skills needed to keep them safe
  • Developing and then implementing procedures for identifying and reporting cases, or suspected cases, of abuse
  • Supporting pupils who have been abused in accordance with his/her agreed child protection plan
  • Establishing a safe environment in which children can learn and develop.

All staff are currently receiving training to raise awareness and understand how to contribute to The Prevent Duty—Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015. We actively provide fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
