Stanton Bridge Primary School

History

At Stanton Bridge, our history curriculum aims to excite and inspire our pupils; to foster curiosity and promote a desire to discover more about the past.  Through the teaching and learning of history, we aim to help pupils to understand the process of change and the diversity of societies (both past and present).  This also allows them to gain a clearer sense of their own identity and the challenges facing the World today.

Through our new foundation curriculum, children are encouraged to ask perceptive questions, think critically, weigh evidence, sift arguments and develop perspective and judgment.  They have the opportunity to take part in many engaging and interactive activities, all of which seek to support the acquisition of coherent historical knowledge and develop a sound understanding of the past.
