Young Carers Awards Night July 2019

We were honoured to receive the award of Caring School of the year which highlights the amazing work we do for our young Carers and pupils. We believe caring for all our pupils and community is an important aspect of our vision and ethos.

Below are pictures of the awards night.

  • Young Carers Bronze Award
April 2019

Stanton Bridge Primary School has been given a Bronze award for their work to make sure students don’t miss out on an education because they are young carers.

To achieve their Bronze Award Stanton Bridge has demonstrated that it supports young carers in many ways, including homework clubs and drop-in sessions with a member of staff who is responsible for this vulnerable group of pupils. Vital information about how to identify young carers is made available to all school staff, and noticeboards and the school webpage let students and their families know where to go for help.

  • Walk Once a Week Competition (WOW)

We had a competition for year 5 and 6 children where they were asked to design their own WOW badges. The theme for the competition was 'Inventions that changed the world'. As a School, we had to pick just 3 of the best entries, and send them to WOW. Then from all the entries they have received from School's across the country, WOW will choose 11 designs, and use them for next years badges! We had many fantastic entries and it was very difficult to pick the 3 winners- Congratulations to our winners Fahima, Alvaro, and Mehek! We hope WOW will choose your designs and you become famous!

  • Well Done to our Parents

Well done to our parents who completed the Basic English Course. We are very proud of your achievements. We hope this is a positive stepping stone to contribute towards your lifelong learning, so you can complete day to day tasks independently and support your child's homework. I hope you enjoy spending your vouchers at Sainsbury's because you deserve to be rewarded for your hard work.

As always Stanton Bridge Pupils behaved exceptionally, see below for the letter from Roland.

Hi Mrs Sangha
As usual we had the best time in Stanton Bridge.  Everyone was so welcoming and friendly – random people who made tea, found cables, sorted the LX, stacked chairs etc etc. It’s a fab school.
I felt very proud of British education last week. Cristina is French/Congolese and started working with us quite recently. She was really impressed by how happy and engaged all your pupils were. So please pass that on to all members of staff.
 Thanks for inviting us back.
Kind regards
Roland
