Vision

'Crossing the Bridge to Success’

Mission

'Inspiring excellence, through reflective practice'.

Our mission is to ‘inspire excellence’, working in partnership with all stakeholders for the sole purpose of brightening our pupils’ future. Thus, we wish to shape lives that are socially adept, understanding social conventions within a rapidly growing multi-cultural society in which our children play, live and work. This, we believe that this can only be achieved through conscientious, ‘reflective practice’ that requires for all to work with pride and ‘integrity’. We aim for our pupils to flourish in a community that they proudly embrace with understanding, respect, tolerance and even an appreciation of the enrichment such experiences can bring to their own personal lives. Our educational values, helps us as educators to realise the potential of the following:

Schools are one of the most powerful tools we possess to raise the aspirations, confidence and prosperity of communities…with passion and dedication talented teachers readily awaken the belief in education as a creator of opportunity’.

                                                                                   (Fye 2004, p5).

Therefore, we always push, further, and demand the very best from our pupil’s, recognising that education equals prosperity and a route out of poverty.

We are a forward-thinking school that collaborates and intrinsically connects with both the community and other academic, as well as business organisations for the benefit of all. As such, we have expanded and embraced new challenges; driven by research findings and best practice, and/or local and national agendas, but always under-review so that we can continue to provide our pupils with the best learning opportunities for future success.

As part of a the ‘Growth Academy’ our common aim is to inspire excellence across, within and beyond the school so that individual goals are met, and unique potential realised. In doing so, Stanton Bridge aims to become a role model, flagship school, and one that adopts a profoundly positive attitude by demonstrating high expectation and belief accomplishing one’s goals. Therefore, we envision an organisation that excels at generating success across boundaries, which ultimately will lead to a wider impact on society.

Values

The following core values shape the way we encourage the whole school community to interact within their environment on a day-to-day basis:

  Relationships
  Equality
  Care
  Thinking Flexibly
  Listening

We expect each child to:

Build positive ‘Relationships’ through strong self-respect, a sense of pride linked to the communities they come from. To celebrate firstly our commonalities then our differences - have special regard for people’s culture & religious beliefs and remember that everyone deserves respect.

Know that Equality of opportunity is for all - themselves and for those around them. That their actions need to be measured through a sense of fairness, of what is right. As they grow older, they will come to realise that in order to create equality of opportunity requires, in some instances, adaptations that give fair access to all.

Care’ for oneself and extend this care towards others, the environment and the world in which they live in.

Thinking Flexibly, understanding & knowing that everything you do and say will make you the person that you are and the person you will become. That it is important to think, stop, reflect and adapt if necessary, seeking alternative approaches.

Listen and learn, independently, in pairs, teams and interconnectedly.

Ethos

Our school ethos is founded on our values of care, good relations and support, encouraging everyone to be confident. We promote a positive atmosphere which reflects the high expectations people have of each other and themselves. Pupil Recollections

At Stanton Bridge Primary School, we are delighted that many of our pupils go on to university after their secondary school education and are equally thrilled that many have secured jobs within the local area, in the local cites and further afield, with some relocating overseas.

Autumn 2023, saw our first ever pupil enrolled to begin their studies at Oxford University – we are so immensely proud of all of our pupils – click below to read some of their success stories.
